Latest Updates from Our Project:

Surveys Are Coming!
almost 2 years ago – Mon, Apr 11, 2022 at 03:48:24 AM

Soon, you’ll receive an email from us with a special link to your BackerKit survey. It’s important to respond to your survey as quickly as you can since we need this information to fulfill your rewards.

You don’t need to create a BackerKit account to fill out your survey. When you receive the email with the survey, click the survey link to respond. Provide your shipping information. You'll then be prompted to pay your shipping fees for all items (remember folks, we did not collect shipping during the campaign).

This example of a BackerKit survey shows a USA customer who pledged for a single copy of Twin Palms. Notice that their balance is $5, which is the USA shipping fee.

You don’t have access to this survey link yet, but it will be available soon via email. After you respond to your survey, you can go back later and change your responses at any time before we close the surveys and get our final counts.

"What if I need to change my address later?" - If you need to review your information, you can return to your survey by clicking the link in your survey email or requesting your survey link under "Lost your survey?" on our BackerKit project page at https://twinpalms.backerkit.com

If you used your Facebook credentials to log in to your Kickstarter account, the BackerKit survey is sent to the email address you use for your Facebook account. If you have another email address that you prefer to use, please contact support at https://twinpalms.backerkit.com/faq

All the best,

A Big Thanks To All!
about 2 years ago – Tue, Mar 22, 2022 at 01:10:23 AM

That's a wrap folks! It’s hard to believe that it’s been 28 days since we pushed the launch button on the Twin Palms Kickstarter. I never could have imagined how much stress and energy would go into running a campaign! It's been an amazing learning experience and I’m so thankful to all the wonderful people I’ve met along the way who helped make this a reality! From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU!

What’s next?
We will be preparing our backer survey using BackerKit and expect to send it out once all the Kickstarter funds clear (in roughly two weeks). What is a backer survey you ask? This is an email that will direct you to a kind of “check out” window on the BackerKit website. Here, you will confirm your shipping address and pay your final shipping fees. We will send another update beforehand to give everyone a heads up so the survey isn't lost in your inbox.

Thanks again to each and every one of you!!!

Doing It For The Love
about 2 years ago – Sat, Mar 12, 2022 at 10:28:46 PM

Why did Bink Ink want to publish Twin Palms?

Let's get the obvious thing out of the way first: It's a great game! But that isn't the main reason.

Sometimes there are works of art that just need to exist. A concept can grab ahold of you and you just can’t stop thinking about it. I fell in love with Kristi’s game Twin Palms immediately after playing her prototype. Even in its raw form, I could see her vision so clearly it felt like I could reach out and touch it. That “reaching out and touching it” actually translated into three years of development, testing, art creation, graphic design, logistics and a whole lot more… but no one ever said making games was easy! We’ve come such a long way, and it feels incredible to see hundreds of backers from around the world join together and show their support.

Today, I’d like to invite you to help us make Twin Palms even better by lending your critical eye to our rulebook. We were reminded recently of how easy it is to overlook small errors, so a few extra sets of eyes will be hugely valuable. Click the link below to view the rulebook, and feel free to add your findings in the comments section.

Best wishes to all,

Charlie Bink

We Did It!

Twin Palms is fully funded!

I want to sincerely thank each and every one of you for making my dreams come true. Without you, none of this would have been possible. Seeing the number of backers continuously growing has been a whirlwind and brought tears to my eyes. I can’t thank you enough!!!

If any current backers are wondering whether Twin Palms is a game you could share with your non-gamer friends, I invite you to watch the Love 2 Hate preview. Lance and Sam make videos that are specifically designed to help board game hobbyists find games they can safely share with their non-gamer friends (spoiler alert: Twin Palms passes the test with flying colors!).

We still have a few weeks before the campaign ends, so we will continue to keep busy spreading the word about Twin Palms far and wide. Until next time, I wish you all the best and thank you for your support!

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

P.S. Have I said thank you? THANK YOU!!!

Welcome to Twin Palms!

Hello friends!

For starters, a big thanks to all of you for supporting this campaign! We’ve already reached 50% funding, and with three weeks remaining we’re confident that we can hit our goal by the end of this journey. If you know anyone who appreciates beautiful and clever card games, we’d be grateful if you shared our project with them!

Many of you are already familiar with trick-taking games, but for those of you who aren’t, I thought I’d start off with a quick explanation:

In most trick-taking games, a “trick” means that all players will play one card from their hand face up to the center of the table. One of these cards will beat all the others, and that player “takes the trick”... easy concept, right? In its most basic form, it's like the game War: I play a 7, you play a 10. 10 is bigger, so you win! There are many more rules and variations that make trick-taking games fun, but if you understand this simple concept, learning the rest will be easy for you!

When I was growing up, trick-taking card games were always a family favorite (so it's no surprise that I would make one of my own!) We played a ton of Wizard and Whist, both fantastic games I’d recommend.

What Should Future Updates Be About?

I want to hear from you! It’s important to me to send out updates that interest you…. So, what would you like to hear about? Leave a comment in the comment section of this update on the Kickstarter campaign page with your answers.

Thank you SO much again!
